Another twirler in the family?

Anybody who knows me knows that I've been twirling my hair, well, since I had hair. Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - look at how Lucy is grabbing onto my hair while enjoying a bottle. (And no, her right ear isn't freakishly big. That's just my thumb holding her little noggin upright.)

She's a Snappy Dresser

Look! She's not wearing PJs for once. Thank you, Grandma Sarah, for the snappy separates. (You can't tell from the photo, but her pants are made of a fuzzy velour!)

Baby Love

Isn't she cute? And isn't Lucy just adorable, too? Heh, heh.

The View from Joe's Lap

Miss Lucy

I think Lucy might be the kind of girl who likes having her name printed on stuff. In addition to a pretty pink and white polka dotted blanket with her name on it, given to her by Joe's office, Cousin Ella made this adorable little "Lucy" bib for her. Thanks, Ella!

Move over, Lucy

I Love Lucy!

Lucy Clementine Lunday officially joined our family at 3:58 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. For those of you who don't know the story of her early arrival, the short version is I went to my doctor's office at the hospital for a routine check-up at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, and basically never left, having Lucy nearly 24 hours later. No food or sleep for nearly 24 hours - the hardest part about labor and delivery!

This is a photo of Lucy here at home, looking annoyed at me for snapping so many pix.

Happy Parents

Here we are, just minutes after Lucy was born.

Gaga Grandparents

Here we have Sarah and John getting to know LuLu during our stay at GBMC. While we don't seem to have any pictures of it, they are the ones who introduced her to the joys of sleeping face first on someone's chest.

Great Aunt and Uncles

My Uncle John and Aunt Linda and Uncle Jerry drove all the way from Canandaigua to Hunt Valley to meet Lucy, give us presents and cook dinner for us last Saturday. Wasn't that so cool of them? Of course, that's the day we had to bring Lucy to the ER because she was constipated, which cut short our time together. (Basically we spent four hours at GBMC waiting for what will surely turn out to be the world's most expensive over-the-counter glycerin suppository. She's pooping like a real baby now, so crisis over! I'm sure she'll someday be so thrilled that her BM habits were once online for the world to see.)

Uncle David

Here's David with Lucy Clementine. While his vote for her name was "Princess Leia Batman," I think he's ok with our final selection.

And I had to throw this photo in for comparison. This is a classic photo of David holding our "old baby," Emmet, nearly two years ago. Same red shirt?

Lucy and Emmet

We think they'll be fast friends and partners in crime someday.

Hospital Web Nursery Photos

The hospital took photos of little Lucy very early on in her stay. Here's the link (and if they ask you for a password, it's "lunday"):
